Mommy Moment!

We want all our MOPS moms to feel connected to each other and a great way to do that is to share our crazy stories of being moms of preschoolers! We call these "Mommy Moments" and we want to hear yours! email us at salisburymops@gmail.com

This is my latest "Mommy Moment":
I recently signed up to be a leader in a new program called "Puggles" starting at our church for toddler age kids. My 2 year old Connor will be in the program, so I wanted to help out =) We had our kick-off with a huge carnival theme on a Sunday night recently, but my husband could not be there and I had to manage my 2 boys (6 and 2 yrs) through a potluck dinner then do my duties as a Puggles leader.
Things went great until we all shuffled into the main building to watch a magician perform, and I had Connor on my lap to restrain him (he's an accomplished aisle runner). About halfway through the performance I felt something warm rushing down the front of my jeans!! All of us moms know what that means and my shock lasted mere seconds because I knew that I had just been peed on - and I was sitting in the middle of a large crowd in a church!!
Somehow Connor was sitting on my lap in just the right way where his diaper slid to the side and it ALL went on me. It looked exactly like I had just had an accident myself! Like all good mommies, I had an extra outfit for Connor in his diaper bag, but there was nothing for me =( I flung him on the ground to change him then wiped the soppy pew off the best I could. Baby wipes don't absorb moisture well... too bad for that pew.... and for my pants!

I spent the rest of the evening running around the gym with my little Puggles kids and a huge wet mark on the front of my pants - I fit right in!

Let the Adventure Begin!!!

We are only 3 days away from another fun-filled year of MOPS! This year we will be meeting on the first and third Fridays from 9:00-11:30 at First Baptist Church of Salisbury. Our new theme is "Adventures in Mothering." Can you think of any adventures you've had as a mom? I sure can! Whether it be last winter's first day of sledding in Pennsylvania, this summer's trip to the zoo or even yesterday's minor flood in the bathroom, there have been many to report! Each day is an adventure in our home as I can imagine it is in every mom's home. Be prepared to share your adventures with us as we embark on another year of ups and downs, highs and lows, and sometimes loopty-loops! I can't wait to experience the year with everyone! Have you recently had any adventures you would like to share? Please leave a comment and let us know :)
